  • How early should I book?
    We recommend booking no later than three weeks before the party. One to two months before the party is best, as dates can fill up fast (especially Saturdays)! Contact us to inquire about availability.
  • What time should the princess arrive?
    We recommend scheduling your princess to arrive 15-30 minutes after your guests. This allows time for guests to get settled and be fully present for the princess's grand entrance. You will receive a phone call from your princess 10-15 minutes before her scheduled arrival time.
  • Why do I need to pay a non-refundable deposit?
    The non-refundable deposit is 50% of the full price of your chosen party package. It secures your date/time/character. The remaining balance will be due the day of the party via e-transfer, cash, or check made out to Wisteria Productions.
  • Do I have to sign a contract to book a party?
    Upon inquiry, you will be sent an email containing a contract and invoice for your non-refundable deposit. The contract outlines the services we will provide as well as our policies.
  • Why is the deposit non-refundable?
    The non-refundable deposit secures your date/time/character. It is a guarantee that your performer will arrive at your requested time and date and that we turn down other clients' requests for the performer at the same time and date, as it is reserved for you. If you must cancel the event for any reason, your deposit can be used for another mutually agreed upon time and date within a year of your original booking. If we must cancel the event for any reason, your deposit will be refunded.
  • Do you take custom character requests?
    We are always looking to add more characters! If you have a particular character in mind that isn't listed on our Characters page, we may be able to fulfill the request for an extra fee with a fee deadline of four months prior to your event. Contact us to inquire.
  • What areas do you serve?
    Wisteria Productions is based in Victoria, BC and serves clients in Greater Victoria and southern Vancouver Island.
  • How far do you travel?
    Wisteria Productions’ performers will travel within the Greater Victoria Area with no travel charge. Any parties located outside the Greater Victoria Area will require an additional travel fee.
  • What venues will you entertain at?
    We can travel to any type of party venue, but please keep in mind that some venues have their own guidelines and restrictions. Please check to see if your venue allows outside entertainment to come in before booking with us. Additionally, some costumes/characters require specific types of venues or special accommodations. All limitations/accommodations will be discussed during the scheduling/booking process. Outdoor Party Policy: Outdoor venues are always welcome! However, if you are planning an outdoor event, always have a backup plan in the event of bad weather. Because of the delicate and expensive nature of our costumes and wigs, we cannot do an outdoor party in the event of rain, extreme temperatures, or inclement weather. It is the responsibility of the client to arrange for a clean, dry area free of dirt and mud, or the entertainment will be canceled without refund of deposit. Activities may be affected depending on the conditions. Please let us know at the time of scheduling/booking if your event is outdoors so that we can make proper preparations. Parking: We ask that you please save a spot for your performer near the entrance to your event. We appreciate having safe and easy access to the event site with all materials. This also means that we need to easily be able to exit the party as well. We thank you for your cooperation and understanding with this matter!
  • What does the performer bring to the party/event?
    Our performers bring with them everything that is needed to carry out the activities included in your ordered package. Each package is different so we will bring with us different things. We provide our own speaker/music for sing-alongs and our own storybook for story time. If your package includes face painting or other activities, we will bring with us everything needed to carry out these activities.
  • What do I need to provide for the party?
    Wisteria Productions does not provide food, beverages, or supplies for eating or decorating. We are more than happy to sing Happy Birthday with your child and be around for food/cake, but we do not provide any food ourselves. We do ask that you be mindful of providing us with the proper space to carry out the activities you’ve chosen in your party package. For face painting, we ask that you provide table space with two chairs. This can get somewhat messy, so consider using a table cover as well. For all packages, we ask that you have somewhere for our performers to sit during their visit.
  • What can I do to ensure that the visit goes smoothly?
    There are a few things you can do to always help with the fluidity of the party: Try to reserve a parking spot for your princess so that she will not have to park far away and walk a great distance. However, we recommend that the parking spot is not in plain view of the children. Your performer will phone you the week of the event to discuss parking arrangements and other details for the big day. Help your princess to make the best grand entrance possible—an entrance that keeps the wonder and magic of the fairytale sacred (for example, most princesses would not be driving a car, so please arrange for a spot that is out of sight of the children or arrange for the children to be preoccupied until the princess is parked and ready). Have a power outlet available for us to plug in our speaker for use during the sing-a-long. If one is not available near the area the princess will be sitting, or if your venue is outside, either provide us with an extension cord or make alternative arrangements with us. If the event is outside, please make sure a shaded area is provided that is free of any dirt or mud. In the event of bad weather, please have indoor accommodations available. Be available to aid the princess if issues arise with children needing assistance or misbehaving. Have cameras ready throughout the party! You don’t want to miss a single magical moment!
  • Do your princesses accept gratuity?
    Absolutely! Our princesses are trained to embody the poise, grace, and personality of their fairytale character in every single way while also making sure that your party is a success. Gratuity is a great way of letting your princess know that you loved her performance! While it is not required, it is always appreciated.
  • What are your policies regarding COVID-19?
    Our performers are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, and we ask that all eligible attendees at your event be fully vaccinated as well. While we love giving princess hugs, we also aim to minimize physical contact between our characters and party guests. Air hugs, however, are welcome and we encourage parents and guardians to explain this to their children and guests before the event. At all indoor events, our performers will wear face coverings and we encourage all attendees over age 12 to do the same. For the health and safety of everyone involved, please notify us before the event if any attendees are feeling unwell, and we will happily reschedule. These protocols are subject to current BC CDC health recommendations.
  • What is your cancellation/rescheduling policy?
    After signing the booking contract, a cancellation at any time results in forfeiting the 50% deposit you placed at the time of booking. Any amount paid above the 50% mark is completely refundable at any time. Rescheduling is also available. Your deposit can be used for another mutually agreed upon time and date within a year of your original booking. If we must cancel the event for any reason, your deposit will be refunded.
  • Can the princess stay longer than the package time?
    Staying additional time is at the discretion of the performer. The performer will be paid $40 in cash for each additional 15 minutes.
  • Does it matter how many guests I invite?
    Yes! Each party package has a recommended limit for the number of children in attendance. This allows for quality interaction and a stress-free performance from our characters.
  • What happens if a guest becomes ill, upset, or misbehaves?
    The party princess is only responsible for engaging the children in party activities. Any behavior or health issues with children must be taken care of by a parent or party host. Good behavior is always promoted, but it is the responsibility of the host or hostess to monitor and take charge of any children who are misbehaving or do not want to participate in the party activities.
  • What if a guest arrives late?
    All parties will begin at the time scheduled and agreed upon by the host and will end at the end of the party duration time. All activities are based on a schedule and work best when all guests arrive on time. Late guests are welcome to join in upon their arrival.
  • What options do you have for boys?
    All children regardless of gender are welcome to participate in activities and engage with our characters. We also have a variety of face painting options that will appeal to both boys and girls. Our goal is to empower and enchant every child we meet!
  • How can my child or my party be featured on Wisteria Production’s website, social media, or advertising?"
    We are always looking for more pictures to fill our photo galleries, social media accounts, and advertisements! To fill out a photo release form, simply request one via email. Send the completed form back to us prior to your party/event. Once we have your consent, you can email us photos from your child’s special day, post them on our Facebook page: Wisteria Productions, or tag us on Instagram: @wisteria_productions. We assure you that your child’s personal information will never be advertised or shared with anyone.
